Game Review:Poker (real life vs. mobile)
From unthinkMedia
Texas Hold'em at Home vs World Poker Tour Texas Holdem Mobile Game
Texas Hold'em has a definitive set of rules no matter where you play, asides from "house rules". It involves the development of strategy techniques based on your use of logic and reasoning to make an entirely random hand of cards create not so random results.
Differences
- At points i was a bit more frivolous with my bets on the mobile game since it wasn't real money.
- The Social aspect was lost in mobile game (laughing, smack talking)
- Strategies such as reading gestures of other players was lost in mobile
- The "real life" card game had a time limit and had to be planned out with anticipation since people had to go home to their families. Mobile i could open up and play anytime (train, work, walking, home)
- In the home game we established a "house rule", yet in the mobile game i had to surrender to the rules set forth by the game designer.
Conclusion
All these difference are responsible for shaping my game experience. Convenience and social interaction where the two major differences that i could feel in both instance.
