augmented reality is the combination of "real-world" and "virtual" data.
Overview
This simulation allows students to engage in processes of scientific reasoning to explain the natural phenomena of volcanoes.
The students are able to adjust parameters with the slider to manipulate the content of the visualization. The student is immersed in the simulation by the use of augmented reality, and given the opportunity to investigate the volcano and it's activities on the palm of their hand. They are given the ability to physical control their field of view and investigate while being guided by "just in time" instruction that helps the student focus.
Goal
The goal of this simulation is to help students understand how volcanoes work and offer them very detailed views of the effects of the parameters they set.
